Alpha H Balancing Cleanser with Aloe Vera Review

Monday, August 10, 2015

After reading so many rave reviews about Alpha H, specially by Stacey (Expat Makeup Addict) and the world-reknown Caroline Hirons I decided it was time to try out some of their products. I have quite a few but the first one I wanted to show you is this cleanser.

Alpha H is famous for their Liquid Gold, and I am also currently reviewing it, but I just couldn't wait to tell you about this cleanser which I have been using daily for the past 3 or 4 months. I tend to try out a lot of cleansers as I double cleanse at night, and this one has to be one of my faves.
Packaging
Alpha H is a no-fuss brand, they're more worried about the product doing what it's supposed to than looking pretty. The old packaging wasn't nice at all, but now that they've revamped the whole line not only are the products effective, they also look great!

The large white bottle is very beautiful and nicely designed. It comes with a very large lid and then there is a smaller lid for the pump. I really love that this is a pump, it dispenses the right amount of product and you don't actually touch the rest of the contents so it stays in perfect conditions.
I really like that they've decided to sell this very large 200 ml size, we all need cleanser so it's good to get more bang for your buck.
Formula and How it works
The Alpha H Balancing Cleanser is a creamy cleanser rich in Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. It's meant to remove all makeup and also act as a toner by correcting the skin's natural pH balance. According to Alpha H you could skip all other steps but I still use a makeup remover for my eyes and face before I use the cleanser.

As it's a creamy product if you use it on dry skin you'll need two pumps, but with damp skin you'll only need one pump to fully remove all your makeup and get a great cleanse. I like to massage it with my fingers and wash it off with water. I finish removing it with a damp cloth because it's a bit oily and otherwise I feel it leaves a bit of a residue.

This cleanser is supposed to be good for all skin types, and I have to say it works very well on my oily skin. I haven't had a single breakout since I started using it and my pores seem much smaller (although I know that's also thanks to Liquid Gold, which I will be reviewing soon).
I think it would also work well on drier skin, because even though it leaves the skin very clean it doesn't strip it of all moisture. The Aloe Vera is also perfect for sensitive and irritable skin, so it may well be a great cleanser for all kinds of skin, as it claims.

Overall
The best bit about this cleanser is that a little goes a long way. I purchased the 200 ml bottle as part of a bundle in Cult Beauty and I've been using it daily since then. I can't believe there is still so much left in the bottle, I usually go through cleansers very quickly (which is annoying and expensive) so I'm very happy to report that this one seems to last a long time!

I never thought I'd love the cleanser so much from the Alpha H bundle. I was mainly interested in the Liquid Gold, but I have to say that this cleanser has really surprised me in the best way!
You can purchase Alpha H products in more than one place but I suggest you take a look at Cult Beauty as they send all over Europe with free shipping and they have some great deals!

Which cleanser are you using at the moment?
