My Look and Outfit for a Moroccan wedding
Tuesday, May 31, 2016
This past weekend I had the incredible opportunity of going to a Moroccan wedding in Barcelona. Not only did we get the chance to experience what it was like, we also wore the traditional clothing and that's what I wanted to show you today!
We were incredibly excited about the wedding as it my fiancé's favourite cousin's wedding and only a few people were invited to the Moroccan wedding. About a month ago I decided to ask the bride-to-be about the dress code as I wasn't too sure about what was considered acceptable or not in their culture.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that we could rent them in Barcelona, but as we were going just for the wedding day we were lucky enough to borrow them from the bride's family!
I have to admit I was a little worried they'd get the size right, and I also hoped the colour would suit me, but luckily the bride is in charge of a ZARA store so I knew she had great taste!
As we were getting near to the wedding us girls decided to ask what colour the dress would be, so we could sort out accessories, and I was so happy to find out that mine was red with gold accents! Both colours suit me incredibly well and I had a pair of gorgeous golden sandals and a little golden clutch!
The only thing bugging me was the size.
Thankfully we were happy to find out that they were one size only and could fit almost anyone. It has a thicker interior dress and then the vaporous outer layer. Some hidden strings tie the dress at the waist creating the bat-wing sleeves and adjusting it to our shape.
The dress was absolutely stunning and so comfortable to wear, I wish I could've kept it!
As for my makeup, I decided to go for very a very dark smokey and glittery look with a thick liner and big luscious lashes, paired with nude shiny lips. I used NARS Sheer Glow foundation with some translucent powder on top and NARS Orgasm as a blush.
As for the eyes, it was all Charlotte Tilbury: the beautiful Nocturnal Cat Eyes to Hypnotize in the shade Silver Leopard with the Black Magic Liner. I used Benefit Roller Lash mascara to get curly black lashes and on the lips I used MAC Flair for Finery and Chantecaille Lucky gloss on top!
The wedding was lots of fun and the bride looked stunning in her three different dresses, she also changed hair and makeup for each of them which was amazing!
Have you ever been to a wedding like this?
