Trying out samples : Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser vs Calendula Foaming Face Wash

Tuesday, February 03, 2015

Today I'll be looking into two different cleansers by the same brand, it's not often that I get to try two similar products back to back so let's see which I preferred!
I have run out of my cleanser and I haven't ordered a full size yet so it's a great opportunity to go through some of my samples (you should take a look at my samples stash!). These two cleansers are both by Khiel's, they look very similar in their packages, I even thought they were the same but they aren't!

This is one of Kiehl's best sellers and it's the first one of the two that I tried. It's very much a deep cleanser and makeup remover which I like because I want to remove everything in the evening.

I feel it's great at cleansing and removing dirt but I felt it was a little drying on my skin. This is a bit worrying as I've got oily skin so I can't imagine what it must feel like if you have dry or sensitive skin.

I thought this one wouldn't be a very good cleanser because it's foaming and sometimes foaming agents can be irritating. If you take a look at the ingredients there are also citrus fragrance oils which potentially could be irritating too.

BUT I preferred this cleanser over the other one. It seemed much milder on my skin and left it feeling clean and purified but not overly dry. I should've supposed it would be a good one as it was sent to me by the lovely Rose from MixedGems when I purchased some things in Selfridges.

I think both cleansers are very good at removing all traces of makeup and leave skin very clean. I personally preferred the Calendula Foaming Face Wash as it wasn't as harsh and drying on my skin. Nevertheless I'm sure you'll be able to find the perfect cleanser for you at the Kiehl's counter because they have very good skincare products!

Have you tried any of these cleansers?
