Finish 10 Makeup and Beauty Items before New Year

Sunday, November 30, 2014

I thought I'd set myself a challenge: to try and finish a few makeup and beauty items. We all know I have too much so I'm always happy to get through products!
I completed the Finish 5 by Fall tag a few months ago and it was an amazing challenge: I had to reuse a lot of products almost daily but it was incredibly satisfying to be able to finish a few products. I thought I would set myself a similar challenge again!

This time I am going to be choosing 10 different items, not only makeup but also skincare and other beauty products, because ten different makeup products to finish would be an almost impossible feat.
Even so as you see the products I have chosen you'll realize I have probably set myself a very difficult task. Some of the products are close to the end and will be easier to go through but others last a very long time and I don't think I'll manage!

Nevertheless it's a great challenge even it to make a dent in my incredibly large collection. I admit I have a bit of a problem: I have more makeup than I will ever need and yet I insist on using it all, I don't want it to collect dust. So this is a great way for me to feel I'm actually getting through products and I'll be able to make some interesting empties videos too!

- Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue: I bought this fragrance incredibly reduced and I have enjoyed it. It's quite a feminine and grown up scent which I usually use to go to work. I have included this because I tend to leave perfumes without quite finishing so I want to get through it.

- Soap & Glory Hand Food (50 ml): I have been really enjoying this famous hand cream and now I want to finish it to go onto other hand creams. I am distracted by others I have received so I want to make sure I finish this before I go onto others.

- MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Adored: I have already included this in my favourites because it's a beautiful peachy highlighter. It's limited edition and I have been using it almost daily since I purchased it. I think this will be one of the harder ones to finish, it seems to last forever!

- MAC Angel Frost lipstick: This is the first lipstick I purchased online and it's a lovely pinky nude. I have given it a lot of love but I have so many lipsticks that I tend to push it aside. The frosty finish isn't over the top but sometimes it can enhance my chapped lips. I don't think I'll be able to finish it but I'll try as hard as I can.

- Clinique Moisture Surge Extra Refreshing Eye Gel: This is a lovely refreshing eye gel, as the name suggests. I like to use this in the morning when I have puffy eyes because it's soothing and fresh on the delicate skin around my eyes.

- Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Mudmask: I love this mud mask because it really makes a difference to my skin, leaving it soft and smooth. It is ridiculously pricey but it really does a good job. I want to finish it before it dries up and I may have some more Glamglow goodies on the way...

- Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Nourishing Lip Balm SPF20: My mum bought this for me at Stansted airport a year ago because my lips were incredibly dry. I enjoy this lip balm but I prefer it for the day when I get the benefit of the sun protection. For nights I much prefer the Nuxe Reve de Miel as it's more powerful in my opinion.

- Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait: This one should be easy to go through as it's almost finished and they are so soft that they don't last long at all. I love the formula and color but it is a shame that it doesn't last very long.

- Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner mini: I like this gel liner in pen format, it is easier to travel around with than taking a pot and brush. I have had this for quite a few months now and I want to finish it before it dries out, although I haven't seen it look dry yet.

- Urban Decay Primer Potion: This primer seems to be never-ending. I bought the NARS substitute a couple of months ago and I still haven't gone through the Urban Decay primer. I really like this primer and I highly recommend it if you have oily eyelids.

So those are all the products I'm going to try and go through. I probably won't be able to finish them all but it'll make a great difference in any case.

Do you ever try to go through products this way?
