A pleasant morning in St. Ives

Wednesday, March 04, 2015

On my last trip to visit my brother we spent a lovely morning in the beautiful town of St Ives which is a small market town near Cambridge. It was a very sunny but cold day but it was lovely for a pleasant walk in the town centre and a nice cup of tea.

The market had lots of lovely stands with local produce and we even saw a stand with Spanish products which was a big surprise. Who would have thought you could buy chorizos in this small market?

The part of the town near the river is incredibly enchanting and the swans and ducks floating silently made the place all that more magical. It must be nice in the summer and I hope to pay a visit again when the weather is warmer.

After a long walk we decided we deserved a nice cup of tea and some cakes so we headed to Tom's Cakes which is a lovely tea parlour in the town centre. It's a lovely place with very helpful staff and the most mouth-watering range of biscuits, cupcakes and cakes you could imagine!

Have you ever visited St Ives?
