Our Wedding : The Dress

Monday, July 10, 2017

I can't believe a whole year has passed since I got married. It was a beautiful day, in fact it was more romantic and enchanting than I ever could have imagined. It's time I showed you some details of that day, and what better way than to start with the wedding gown!

Choosing the wedding gown was one of the most fun parts of preparing the wedding. Nowadays there are so many different styles to choose from and I wanted to find a special dress that would reflect the way I am.
I tried on many beautiful dresses but most would have been quite forgettable, but then I went to Tul Novias. From the moment I found out about that little wedding dress boutique I felt I would find my dress there.
Loli Calo is the owner and the best person for the job. She quickly notices what sort of person you are and only shows you the best dresses for your figure and style. I have to admit that it was a little hard to choose between the beautiful choices she had for me.
I say hard because I thought I'd go for an open back, not a plunging neckline, but really it was the most stunning dress of all the ones I had tried and Loli was convinced it was for me.

One thing was sure: I was a Jenny Packham bride. As soon as I tried on her dresses I realized they were amazing, the design and quality of the materials is out of this world, and the Nerissa gown which I wore fit me like a glove.

The dress is made of pure silk, beaded with Swarovski crystals in a 1920s geometric style. The design of this dress could be that of one worn on the runway or at a premiere yet it is ultimately bridal.
I will tell you about the inspiration for my wedding in another post, but basically I had Downton Abbey and Pride and Prejudice in mind and this dress was perfect.

I fell in love with the way it marked my figure, hugging my curves, enhancing my best features. Its movement was stunning, shining as the light caught the Swarovski beads. It is a heavy dress, so no matter how I moved it would always hang perfectly on my body.

I know it wasn't the sort of dress everyone would like, but it certainly drew a lot of attention and I was absolutely in love with it!

What do you think of this delicate gown?
