Our Wedding : Hairstyle and accessories
Wednesday, July 26, 2017
Continuing with my posts about our beautiful wedding in July last year I am going to talk to you about my hair and other related accessories.
I have already shown you my dress in detail which you can read about here: my wedding dress and I have also spoken to you about my makeup for the big day here: my wedding makeup look. Another important aspect at a wedding is the hairstyle.
I was sure from the very beginning that I did not want an updo, I hardly ever wear my hair that way and I don't like it. I wanted something special but that wouldn't look too done up, I still wanted to feel like myself.
I didn't put much more thought into it as I knew Ludy Quintás from Aluma Peluqueros would come up with a beautiful hairdo for the big day.
The months prior to our wedding I let my hair grow long in case she needed the length and I made sure to take good care of it and applied hydrating treatments often. I had a trial at the hairdresser about a month before and all three options looked really beautiful!
In the end I chose this lovely half updo with braids which are very much on trend in bridal fashion. The loose hair I took in open waves and I left my face quite free.

My mother surprised me with a beautiful tiara by Jenny Packham, it was a very 1920s style and suited the dress perfectly, without looking over the top. There are many beautiful tiaras and hair pieces by Jenny Packham, all with stunning Swarovski crystals.
One incredibly unexpected accessory was the veil, I hadn't planned on wearing one unless the dress required one. Some dresses I tried on looked better without a veil, and others with one.
This veil is also by Jenny Packham and when Loli from Tul Novias showed it to me I fell in love with it. I never thought there could be such a beautifully delicate and romantic veil.
It is pure silk with beading on the edge, and made the dress look romantically bridal. It was that touch which shifted the dress from glamorous to delicate and I wanted to wear it for the ceremony and banquet.
I think the whole look was beautiful and was comfortable and lasted the whole day without worrying!
What sort of hairdo would you have on your wedding day?
